Franziskaner Weissbier

It’s another snow day in Iowa, and, as if the snow weren’t enough, we now get a layer of ice thrown in before the next blanket of snow falls.  So with the days engagements cancelled, I’m like a monk in my monastery – just me and a good beer.

Franziskaner (which in German is Franciscan monk) Weissbier is an enjoyable wheat based beer.  It has some fruity tones. The flavor of cloves that will about knock you down in some European wheat beers is thankfully toned down to tolerable in this one.

By the way, I love the logo on this bottle: A cleric rubbing his belly with one hand while he savors his beer with the other.
