Mission St. Hefeweizen

Question:  What could be better than two good friends spending time together on a beautiful summer evening?
Answer:  Two friends together and one of them has a mother-in-law who bought the beer!

Barbara Zimniewicz (Erik’s mother-in-law) got it right when she left us this Trader Joe’s hefeweizen. It’s delicious, beautifully copper in color (as you can see in this photo), and an easy aid to relaxation.  The wheat and yeast work some chemical tricks to produce esters that taste a little like pears.

Big thanks to Grandma Zimmiewicz!

Mission St Blonde Ale

My wife Sandy’s take on this one:  “It’s O.K.”

That’s actually high praise from someone who usually, after taking a sip of my beer, responds with a shudder and a twitch.

Mission St. India Plae Ale

Again, with this label, I find a new reason to think that Trader Joe may be my favorite store for beer, even though sadly, the nearest store is almost 100 miles away.

Mission St Pale Ale

On Leap Day, I’m enjoying hops.
This is another beer available exclusively at Trader Joe’s®.  I like the way Hop Head describes it on his review.  Raving about the hop aroma and flavor he adds that it has a “firm malt backbone.”
That’s exactly what one should look for in a pale ale.
