AAAH Bock

This was an enjoyable pint.  It wasn't as smooth as I would like a Bock to be. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed a little rough around the edges of the swallow.

I wonder if they got the idea for the label from the scene in M*A*S*H where Radar says, "Ah! Bach!"

Farmer Brown Ale

Great River puts together another Great brew, with a rich nutty malt flavor followed by a steady strong bitter finish. For an informative review of Farmer Brown Ale in an Iowa City magazine click here.

Only slightly less exciting than finding a new great beer to enjoy, was that it qualified me for a prize on the Old Chicago World Beer Tour.  I finally made it to 25 beers on my first tour and now I have the long awaited carabiner hanging from pants to prove it.

483 Pale Ale

On a busy day like today it gets cumbersome and inconvenient to keep up with my beer book. I'm trying something new for lunch at Old Chicago. I downloaded the Blogger app for my phone so I can post my beers in real time.
483 Pale Ale is named after the Mississippi River Mile Marker 483 at the lock in Davenport across from the brewery. This canned beer keeps a fresh aroma and flavor of grass and citrus. Now, I'm gonna put down my phone and enjoy it.
