Bell's Pale Ale

On this beautiful fall day in Northeast Iowa I had a couple of hours between appointments and an article for a periodical I needed to finish writing. I stopped by the Oneota Food Co-op in Decorah for a sandwich and a beer to go, and took them to Phelps Park where I could sit at a picnic table and have a leisurely working lunch.

With an inspirational view from an overlook, I enjoyed Bell’s Pale Ale, which went down nice and smooth with my turkey and mango Panini. This beer from Comstock, Michigan has a hoppiness that’s refreshing without obliterating the maltiness. The malt and hop flavors balance perfectly, just as the label artfully shows a balance of the grain and the herb.
