It’s tax time and I’m getting
my box of receipts, forms and statements into some presentable shape for my
CPA. With the growing number of online services, I’m thinking this may be the
last year I hire professional help. (My son Cameron filed his taxes for free
through taxact.com!) I too ought to be able to do it all myself, saving money
and hassle.
Schell’s Emerald Rye is
good and a nice help to me through this stressful time. But it makes me long
for a time a few years ago when I brewed several batches of my own recipe of rye
beer. The rye flavor in Schell’s comes as a harsh kick at the end of the
swallow. In my recipe, the rye flavor was clear and comforting, like biting
into a freshly baked slice of marble rye. So like my taxes, I ought to just do
my own beer more often. It’s less expensive and frankly, better tasting.
