Baltika 8

After a long day I came home from work just as our youngest son was playing a Jim Gaffigan comedy special. A few chuckles washed down with a European wheat beer (hefeweizen) were an excellent way to cap off the day.

Baltika 8 is surprisingly light in body and flavor compared to the other Baltikas I’ve tried. A refreshing citrus and mild spice make Baltika 8 a good choice for a warm, sultry summer day in Iowa.

On their website, the Russian brewers extol the virtues of this style:  “This beer is not filtered and contains biologically active substances that are useful for our health.”
