Peroni

Having dinner at OliveGarden Italian Restaurant, I decided to order an Italian beer.  Like St. Ambrose would say, “When in Rome, do as the Romans.”  I brought home this matching coaster to include in my Lifetime Beer Book.

I can tell that my Peroni probably started out as a fairly nice light beer. But then they bottled it in green glass so by the time it got all the way to my table in Dubuque, Iowa, sunlight had degraded precious hop molecules and so the first impression I get is skunky. Not as bad as Heineken, but definitely skunky.

Note to self: When in Rome . . . next time, order wine.
