The history of celebrating this day with
beer is significant. It goes back to 1986, when on (or around) May 5th,
a girl named Peggy first showed me how to squeeze a slice of lime down into the
neck of a bottle of Mexican beer. Since then this garnishing practice has
caught on all over America. Today many beer distributors around the country take
advantage of Cinco de Mayo to market Mexican beer.
