Double Bastard
We visited our daughter and her husband in Michigan to attend the final band concert of their college careers. Afterwards we went to their apartment in Belleville and son-in-law Miguel and I shared a big bottle of this big beer. We both enjoyed it greatly.

Double Bastard
In the early hours of
Christmas Eve, after the Candlelight Service at church, my wife lays out for us
a surreal spread of delicacies: stuffed mushrooms, crab Rangoon dip, and Ethan’s
favorite little weenies. To go with it I had the last beer in my Advent beer
calendar, the beer Sandy had especially appointed for me, the Double Bastard.
Strong in malt and hop flavors it lives up to its name.
From the label: Warning: Double Bastard Ale is not to be wasted on the tentative or weak. Only the Worthy are invited, and then only at your own risk. If you have even a modicum of hesitation, DO NOT buy this bottle. Instead, leave it for a Worthy soul who has already matriculated to the sublime ecstasy of what those in the know refer to as "Liquid Arrogance."

Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale
Arrogant Bastard? Some won't be surprised to hear that I really like this beer.
The high praises this ale gets at BeerAdvocate.com are well deserved.
