Orabelle

Orabelle is a nice little Belgian Ale from Great Divide. Fruity at first, it finishes with spices and a little funk. It goes great with Sandy’s chili in a bread bowl.

Denver Pale Ale

Mother's Day, 2015

It's always nice to spend an afternoon on the deck with a nice beer and the mother of my children. Denver Pale Ale is a nicely balanced,very drinkable offering from Great Divide.

Titan IPA

My son Cameron, once long before he grew to really appreciate hops, reacted to an IPA with these words: "Now I know what a lawnmower feels like!"

I'm reminded of that imagery as I sip on this fresh herbal hopped IPA from Great Divide.

If green were a flavor, this would be it.

Colette

For supper tonight my wonderful wife made lasagna and fresh bread with roasted garlic. This farmhouse ale from Great Divide went nicely on the side. Funk is not usually my favorite part of beer, but I didn't even mind a little of it tonight in this one. In all honesty, the food was so good, I might have had a glass of yesterday's dishwater with it and still been happy.

Hercules Double IPA

It's Christmas Eve and Cameron got me a new T-shirt that is classic Americana, featuring our favorite beer store, John's Grocery in Iowa City. As Sandy lays out the midnight feast of hors d'oeuvres, I enjoy a extraordinary DIPA. The hop bitterness soothes my throat, made sore in the two services I've just conducted. The noticeable malt sweetness keeps each swallow appealing.
