At first I was taken aback. This has a stronger grapefruit-like bitterness than I would expect in “special” bitter.  The label says “A well balanced ale” and if I really think about it, I can notice the sweet malt that is just not quite overpowered by the hops, leading me to agree that there is balance. The more I kept at it, the more I liked it.

My Dad used to say, “You can get used to hangin’ if you do it long enough.” This is a beer that makes me glad I hung in there for the whole bottle.

High Road Everyday Ale

When one writes a blog, one must struggle on days when there simply isn't much interesting to report about. Today was just an ordinary day. Even on the weather tonight on channel 7, Jeff Kennedy seemed to struggle to find other, creative ways of saying "uneventful" and "average".  So it was fitting to cap off my day with this Everyday Ale.

The citrus and fresh cut grass aroma is quickly followed by the light malt of this easy going drip that I could drink any ol' day.
