Finally made it to 3 Floyd's Brewpub. Although they excel at their hop forward brands, I am really pleased with this malt heavy Schwartz. Definitely worth driving a couple of miles out of the way on today's journey.

Gumball Head
Gumball Head is an interestingly complex wheat beer. After my first deep sniff and slow sip, I wondered if they infused some adjunct grapefruit juice into this brew. But looking at their website, it seems they have squeezed all that citrus flavor out of Amarillo Hops, Red Wheat and some specially trained yeast.
I very much enjoyed this on tap at Primebar, on North Wacker, near Randolph in Chicago, where they charged me $7.75 for the experience. I half expected the waitress to ask me if I wanted fries with that, because where I come from, $7.75 is a meal.

Alpha King
This is an exceptional pale ale with the aroma of citrusy and floral hops floating over a steady malt structure.
I enjoyed this Alpha King on tap at New Line Tavern, Chicago.
