Hacker'Pschorr Original Oktoberfest

The perfect all American Thanksgiving feast is best, in my opinion, when paired with a dark German lager. The nutty, grainy rich flavors of this exceptional beer played a small supporting role to my wife's extravagant cooking, in making this a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Hacker-Pschorr Weisse

            I was so happy to stumble on this Hacker-Pschorr Weisse at the Water’s Edge Restaurant at The Light House Inn in Two Rivers, Minnesota.  It was a rich, flavorful, enjoyable wheat, done the good German way of pure beer without all the unnecessary ingredients that brewers in other countries have to throw in with the wheat. 

            I used to enjoy Hacker-Pschorr Munich beer and dark Munich beer back in my college days at the Heidelberg, but last time I was there I didn’t find any.  I’m happy to find this one and I hope to run across other varieties from Hacker-Pschorr soon.
