Stockyard Oatmeal Stout

This wonderful oatmeal stout from Trader Joe's is full of toasted malt with extra grain flavor. The layers of sweetness and velvety mouth feel is what I wish dark chocolate would taste like.

JosephsBrau Heller Bock

Heller Bock is a German style that focuses on the malt more than the hop.  Good beer the old fashioned German way. I like it. Trader Joe's beer makes me happy again.

JosephsBrau Dunkelweizen

For quite a while now I've been thinking that Dunkelweizen was not my favorite style of beer. But on a whim I picked up JosephsBrau offering of this style at Trader Joe's. I was mistaken. I really like it. I must remember that dunkelweizen is good stuff.

I don't know how other beer drinkers can keep stuff like this straight. Hear me when I say, it helps to keep a beer book.

JosephsBrau Octoberfest

Once again, I'm happily impressed by a beer from Trader Joe's. The Oktoberfest has a welcoming sweetness from the amber roasted malt and a finishing predominance of German noble hops. The best thing about Oktoberfest is that Justin Allen bought it for me today. "Free beer, free beer, that's my favorite brand."

And here's another pic of free beer:

JosephsBrau Bohemian Style Lager

Here's another hit for a dollar at Trader Joe's. There is some skunk in the aroma and more bitterness than some might expect in a Czech style lager. I liked their Plznr much better, but overall, I'm looking forward to the chance to drink another of these Bohemians.

Josephsbrau PLZNR

Josephsbrau PLZNR, from Trader Joe’s has all I’m looking for in a light beer: A grainy malt flavor and a refreshingly clean old world hop bitterness. It was perfect for the occasion of shucking our first dozen roastin’ ears of the season. I suppose it would be good for any other occasion as well.

“I like beer. On occasion, I will even drink beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of Communism or the fact that the refrigerator is still working.”  -- Dave Barry.
